Home/School Communication

Central Primary teachers communicate with parents weekly through the Monday Folder. This folder contains Central office communication, classroom teacher newsletters, graded student work, and homework. The Everyday Math Journal is sent home on Monday in the communication folder so math progress can be monitored. This weekly communication folder gives parents the opportunity to stay informed about their child’s school progress. Parents have the opportunity to praise their child for hard work and assist their child with new skills that are causing difficulty. Parents may return the folder with notes, questions, or concerns for the teacher. These folders are signed and returned to school the following day. Individual teachers also have homework folders that are taken home nightly. Math Home Links are sent home following most math lessons to reinforce the skills being taught in our Everyday Mathematics program. These are to be completed and returned to school the next day. This home/school communication is essential to your child’s success.
