Public Schools defined eight VITAL SIGNS that we think are important to
measure for the continuous improvement of our schools.
They are:

for Kindergarten

Performance in the Core Curriculum, as measured by local, state, and
national assessments

Closing
the Achievement Gap – to improve the scores of all students and sub-populations

Continuous
Student Progress in areas such as citizenship, employability, life skills,
physical fitness, music and the arts as measured by local or curriculum-based
assessments

Graduation
Rate – for 9th graders through 12th graders

Successful
transition from grade to grade, as well as, post-high school transition
to high skill / high wage employment, post-secondary education without
remediation, community / civic service or other productive life-choice
options
