PERRITT SCIENCE FAIR IS COMING!
Tuesday night, March 9th, is the mini workshop for the parents of children, grades
K-1, interested in participating in our primary science fair, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Mrs.
SHANNON PRINCE, science fair coordinator, will be in the cafeteria Tuesday night
to discuss ideas for the science fair, rules and regulations. There will also be project boards available for $5. After the meeting, you will have a better understanding of what makes a good science fair project and will get to see examples of science fair projects. You may have already seen the projects in the main hallway.
Mrs. PRINCE asks that you complete the clip/return at the bottom of this page of the PEEPER, if you are interested in receiving a science fair packet. All participants will receive a ribbon, certificate, be recognized on “Perritt, U.S.A.” and earn 50 koalaty points. Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in kindergarten and 1st grades. Dawson Cooperative is including our 1st and 2nd place winners in the District Science Fair this year.

See you Tuesday, March 9th at 5:30 p.m. in the cafeteria!
Our building science fair will be Tuesday, April 27th.

We always welcome visitors to eat lunch with our students. We have the BEST food in town – especially for only $2.25! Please call before 9:00 a.m. and let us know that you’re coming. Especially on chili/cinnamon roll days! In order for you to enjoy lunch with your child and family, we are asking students to not invite other students to your booth. Also, we would like to remind you that our handbook states that no restaurant food, candy, gum or carbonated beverages be brought into the school. If you bring your child a lunch from home, we will have juice, milk or water available. Thank you for your continued cooperation.

Our February word of the month has been Honesty. We are watching a video about being trustworthy. The characters in the video are called the Wumblers. They are sweet-natured, multicolored characters. The story blends an important lesson with inspiration, imagination and fun. Here are some great ways to promote honesty in your children:
· Telling the truth lets people know what really happened. It prevents misunderstanding and confusion.
· People trust you more when you tell the truth.
· Telling the truth helps you feel secure and peaceful.
· Telling the truth protects innocent people from being blamed or punished.
Perritt students are definitely “Characters with Character”. Listed below are students who received the honor for showing Courtesy last month.

I would like to thank everyone that helped my students with the Courtesy Bingo Game. I was so proud of the participation! Courtesy Bingo grand prize winners were: Kindergarten – Mai Burrell, Taylor Echols, Nazjay Lambert, and Kyle Matocha. 1st Grade – Rocky Hughes, Mikayla Middleton, Aaron Montgomery and Shantaysia Walker. All students turning in completed bingo forms received a coupon for a free small bucket of range balls at Turtle Pointe Golf Club (compliments of Mr. Adam LupPlace, Annabelle’s dad) and a book from Scholastic. Grand prize winners had a choice of a game or a sports ball, such as soccer, football or basketball.

COMPUTER
LAB REPORTS
SHERRY
FRENCH, Technology Coordinator
Did you receive a report like the one printed below? If so, you may be wondering what it means. The report gives information on how your child is performing in computer lab with the software, NCS Learns.
Total Total Enroll IPM Current Gain
Course Time Exercises Correct IPM
Reading Readiness
4:53 441/532 81 1.00 1.20 1.52 0.32
Math Concepts and Skills
4:46 351/423 83 1.00 1.21 1.60 0.41
Total Time: 4:53 is four hours and 53 minutes. This tells you how long your child has worked with this software. Some children really apply themselves and complete more exercises during their computer time than a child who may be off task.
Total Corr/Att Exercises: Number of exercises correctly answered in relation to the number attempted.
Total Percent Correct: Percentage level the child is working at in the program. Our goal for your child is to be between 70-80 percent. This means your child is working at an appropriate instructional level.
Enroll Level: Grade level that your child started with this software.
IPM (Initial Placement Mode): Grade level placement the program placed them in after the child’s initial assessment.
Current Level: Grade level your child is currently working on with this software.
(1.60 = first grade, six months)
